- Erich Ziegel was born on August 26, 1876 in Schwerin an der Warthe, Germany. He was an actor, known for An de Waterkant (1918), Weltrekord im Seitensprung (1940) and Unter Ausschluß der Öffentlichkeit (1937). He was married to Mirjam Horwitz-Ziegel. He died on November 30, 1950 in Munich, Germany.

- German character actor, on stage from 1894. Ziegel also had a noted career as a stage director/manager and playwright. In 1911, he founded the Münchner Kammerspiele and in 1918 the Hamburger Kammerspiele. He served as director of the Deutsche Schauspielhaus from 1926 to 1928, and of the Hamburg Thalia Theater from 1932 to 1934.
- When he gave a guest performance with the play "Das Märchen vom Wolf" at the Müncher Kammerspiele in 1913, the then director Eugen Robert had to put up with a great flop which took him his job. Erich Ziegel was admitted to the theater management and eventually appointed as the art director. Erich Ziegel realised one first night each fortnight and had great success.
