Nikos Ziagos

Nikos Ziagos is a versatile Greek artist whose career in the entertainment industry spans several decades, beginning with early work in photography and modeling. He transitioned into acting after studying at the Pelos Katselis Drama School, eventually expanding his repertoire to include directing, screenwriting, and television hosting. His cinematic career began in the 1970s with roles in films such as The Color of Iris (1974), but he became a fixture of Greek cinema during the 1980s. He appeared in notable productions of that era, including the drama Oi apenanti (1981) and the gritty urban film I poli pote den koimatai (1984). One of his most significant international milestones occurred in 1984, when he portrayed the legendary Greek marathon runner Spyros Louis in the American television miniseries The First Olympics: Athens 1896 (1984). In addition to his acting credits, Ziagos has ventured into independent production and digital filmmaking. In 2006, he wrote, directed, and produced the feature film O etsi (2006), which earned an award at Greece's inaugural digital film festival. His theatrical work includes diverse performances in plays such as Oliver Twist (2019) and Anonymous Sender (2017). Beyond his creative work behind and in front of the camera, he has hosted television programs like Sfygmometrisi (1985) and has been a prominent face in numerous commercial campaigns.
