Stan hosted morning radio talkback on 2GB in Sydney and Sky Radio Network throughout Australia. The Beast on TEN's Beauty and the Beast, Stan was also a frequent guest on A Current Affair, Real Life, Sixty Minutes, The Midday Show, Today Tonight and the 7.30 Report. A radio writer and producer in the 1970s, Stan covered the America's Cup in 1977, 1980, 1983 and 1987 and as a writer/producer and Creative Director for a Sydney based advertising agency was headhunted by a US company and moved to the States. When the company went broke, Stan took over the business and became a writer/producer for a series of American radio personalities, before returning to Australia in 1985 where he did syndicated reports on cricket, the World 12 metre Championships and produced and wrote The History of the America's Cup. He also wrote for radio stars, Bob Rogers and later John Laws and in 1987 became producer of the Alan Jones Show on 2UE, making him the only person to produce the three biggest names on radio at that time. He was also producer, presenter and star of the Stan Zemanek Cabaret Spectacular, an annual topline variety show which showcases Australian talent and travels across the country to 500-plus venues. In addition he ran his own company and the popular Stan Zemanek Travel Club Bus Tours as well as merchandising a range of Stan Zemanek coffee mugs, bathrobes and other items. The Thoughts of Chairman Stan was published by Harper/Collins in November 1998. Happily married to wife Marcella for more than 30 years Stan had two daughters, Gabrielle and Melissa. He passed away in 2007.

Stan Zemanek was one of the most successful broadcasters in Australia. He had also earned the title of Australia's most complained about broadcaster, which goes to show there must be a lot of people listening to what he has to say.

Stan started his radio career in the United States as a writer and researcher. He then returned to Australia where he worked for some of the greats in the business such as John Laws and Bob Rogers.

In 1987 Stan was asked to fill in as an on-air presenter on Sydney's Radio 2UE. He proved such a success that within a few months he was hosting his very own night-time radio show.

The Stan Zemanek show started on air in the 3rd survey of 1989 with an audience share of just 4 per cent. The next survey the show went to 8.6 per cent and 10 surveys later the show rated an amazing 19.6 per cent. In 1995 the show hit 22.1 per cent which was the highest percentage share of any announcer on Radio 2UE in the last 15 years.

In the early 90s the program was networked to Brisbane and started with just 4.5 per cent of the audience. After one year the show rated 21.6 per cent.

Following Stan's incredible success in Sydney and Brisbane the show was then networked to 33 stations across Australia, becoming the most successful night time program since the days of Jack Davy and Bob Dyer.

With Stan proving such a hit on radio many television stations wanted a piece of the action. Stan appeared on 60 Minutes?,A Current Affair with Mike Willesee, Mike Munro and Ray Martin, The Midday Show with Derryn Hinch, Ray Martin and Kerry-Ann Kennerley, Real Life and Today Tonight with Stan Grant, Burkes Backyard, The Money Show and a host of other television programs around the world on Prime TV in New Zealand, CNN, ABC America, NBC, CBS and the B.B.C.

In 1996 Brian Walsh from Foxtel asked Stan to do 30 shows of Beauty and the Beast as a test for the production facilities at Foxtel. The rest is history. After more than 975 shows, Stan made Beauty and the Beast the most watched daytime television program in Australia.

Stan was the 13th Beast in a long line that includes Eric Baume, Stuart Wagstaff, Noel Ferrier, Rex Mossop, John Laws, John Forgeham, Ron Frazer, Don Lane, Bob Rogers, Alwyn Kurts, Derryn Hinch and Clive Robertson. Stan was also the longest serving Beast of all time.

But Stan hadn't just enjoyed success on radio and television. His book "The Thoughts of Chairman Stan" sold out. The "Stan Zemanek Lunatic Callers" double CD sold out. The "Stan Zemanek Cabaret Spectacular" CD sold out. The "Stan Zemanek Cabaret Spectacular" live shows appeared in over 500 venues around Australia and also sold out.

Stan was also Executive Chairman, and Major Shareholder of a number of Australian companies involved in the media and advertising industries.

In 2002 Stan started at 3AW Melbourne hosting the Drivetime program between 3pm and 6pm Weekdays. The show was a ratings winner, a revenue generator, and a publicity magnet for the station. 2UE 'stole' him back in 2003, and Sydneysiders had been enjoying his Evening show (9pm-Midnight) ever since. In late 2006, Stan Zemanek retired from radio due to ill health.

Stan Zemanek was married to Marcella and had two married daughters, Gaby and Melissa.

Stan Zemanek passed away in 2007.
