Biography

Jose Zambrano Cassella is an award-winning Director, Cinematographer, and Creator with extensive experience in theatrically released feature films, documentaries, and over 2,000 national and international TV commercials.

He has collaborated with renowned directors such as Robert Rodriguez, Tony Scott, and Roger Corman. Over the years, he has built an impressive portfolio in commercial directing and cinematography, working with major global brands including IBM, Apple, Nike, McDonald's, Reebok, Progressive, and Farmers Insurance. His work as a director earned accolades for the 2014 FIFA World Cup international spot campaign.

Jose's film credits include Second Coming (2008), Cassadaga (2013), The Executioners (2017), and The Harbinger (2022). His directorial debut, The Sacred (2009), won multiple awards, establishing his reputation for gripping storytelling and striking visuals. Most recently, he co-directed the multi-award-winning short Brides of Jesus, which garnered over 80 international awards in directing, cinematography, and editing.

When he's not lurking behind the camera, Jose is busy amassing vinyl records (it's not hoarding if it's vinyl!), dominating world championships in pasta and arepa consumption, and recommending Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom as the perfect date-night movie. His love affair with horror began at age five, when he snuck into his parents' bedroom and popped The Exorcist into the Betamax - love at first fright.
