Biography

Helmut Zacharias was born on January 27, 1920 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor and composer, known for Scheidungsgrund: Liebe (1960), Oberwachtmeister Borck (1955) and Königin der Arena (1952). He was married to Hella. He died on February 28, 2002 in Ascona, Ticino, Switzerland.

One of the greatest violinists in the world, had bit parts in approximately 8 movies playing his beautiful violin.

His daughter is a famous journalist, she wrote a book about the Alzheimer disease.

His son Stephan Zacharias, born in 1956, is a well-known film music composer and created scores to numerous movies such as "Der Untergang" (aka "Downfall", 2004).
