Streaming Stars, Then and Now

He moved to Belo Horizonte to work in the Radio Inconfidência as radiate-actor. He began in TV Itacolomi in the program Tribunal de Calouros. In Rio de Janeiro he participated in programs Time Square, Vovo de Ville, Show Riso and Praça da Alegria (1995). In the Program "Café Sem Concerto" for TV Tupi created the character Zacarias, that would accompany him for the rest of the life. He integrated the group "Os Trapalhões" ("The Dabblers") beside Renato Aragão, Dedé Santana and Mussum, making the largest success in TV and Movies for many years. He died of lung infection on March 18, 1990 at 56 years old, in Rio de Janeiro.

He is best known as Zacarias, member of the group &quot;<a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0143073/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Os Trapalhões (1977)</a>&quot;, along with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0032787/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Renato Aragão</a>, <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0763287/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Dedé Santana</a> and <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0615919/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Mussum</a>.

The name &quot;Zacarias&quot; came from a sketch created by <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0032787/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Renato Aragão</a> and screenwriter Emanuel Rodrigues. The sketch featured <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0143073/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Os Trapalhões (1977)</a> with a rooster also named Zacarias. During recording, the rooster&#39;s cackling was so similar to Mauro&#39;s laugh that everyone started laughing and made the comparison. Mauro initially disliked the nickname but eventually adopted Zacarias as his official stage name.
