  • Katerina Gioulaki was a Greek actress whose career in theater, film, and television spanned more than six decades. A graduate of the National Theatre of Greece Drama School, she made her stage debut in 1959 with Dinos Iliopoulos' troupe in the play "I Kyria tou Kyriou". She became one of Greece's best-known comic actresses through a succession of memorable supporting and leading roles in film before achieving even greater popularity on television. Among her most recognized television performances were the series [link=tt1893879, Ta liontarakia tou kyr Ilia (1985), I kyria mas (1987), and To retire (1990), the long-running Giannis Dalianidis comedy that introduced her to a new generation of viewers. In recognition of her contribution to Greek theater, she received the Society of Greek Playwrights Award in 1996.
