Was nominated for Broadway's 2001 Tony Award as Best Original Musical Score, both words and music, for "The Full Monty."

"The Full Monty" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California was awarded the 2002 Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Touring Production.

Attended Brown University where he wrote an original musical with the production group Brownbrokers before graduating in 1982. He also directed a production of Hair with the student theatre group Production Workshop, for which he composed an original song to complement the classic score.
