Arnold Yarrow was born on April 17, 1920 in Mile End, London, England, UK. He was an actor and writer, known for Doctor Who (1963), Warship (1973) and ITV Play of the Week (1955). He died on December 9, 2024 in Herne Bay, Kent, England, UK.

As of the death of Earl Cameron on July 3, 2020, he is the oldest living actor to have appeared in Doctor Who (1963).

He died at the age of 104 years and 236 days.

Yarrow became the oldest living actor to have appeared in Doctor Who. He had previously become the fourth (credited) performer associated with the franchise to become a centenarian after Zohra Sehgal, Olaf Pooley and Cameron, as well as the sixth including non-credited actors Lewis Alexander and Peggy Batchelor.

Arnold Yarrow was a British actor, screenwriter and novelist best known for his brief role as Jewish bricklayer Benny Bloom in television soap opera EastEnders. Like the character, he was Jewish.

Yarrow wrote numerous books such as TV tie-ins like Softly Softly Casebook and Softly Softly Murder Casebook as well as his own novels Death is a Z and The Grease-Paint Monkey.
