Biography

Miklos Wright is a motion picture editor with a deep love for storytelling and a career built alongside some of the most visionary filmmakers in Hollywood. From the sweeping landscapes of Open Range to the intricate timelines of Foundation and the pulse of Luke Cage, Miklos has helped shape ambitious, audience-favorite shows across theaters, cable, and every major streaming platform.

His editing credits read like a tour through the golden age of modern entertainment, including Outlander, For All Mankind, Invasion, and many others. He has delivered for studios and networks such as Warner Bros., MGM, Disney, HBO, FX, Sony, Starz, Netflix, and Apple TV. What drives it all is Miklos's unwavering belief in the power of story to connect, inspire, and sometimes even change lives.

Miklos studied film at the Rhode Island School of Design, earning a BFA in Film and Television in 1989. Before graduating, he earned his first screen credit as an assistant editor on the cult feature Lobsterman from Mars. From that point forward, the editing room became his creative home.

Drawn to the raw energy of independent filmmaking, Miklos moved to New York City and teamed up with longtime friend and filmmaker Demian Lichtenstein. Together they created the indie film Lowball, one of the earliest features to be edited digitally using Avid. To fund their work, they edited commercials and music videos for artists like Eric Clapton and Eric B. & Rakim, building a reel that was as bold as it was diverse. Lowball eventually caught the attention of Kevin Costner, who invited Miklos to edit 3000 Miles to Graceland, kicking off a long creative partnership that continued with Open Range, Mr. Brooks, and, most recently, the sweeping western saga Horizon: An American Saga.

Although feature films were his first home, Miklos embraced the shift toward prestige television. In 2008, director of photography J. Michael Muro introduced him to Emmy-winning producer Christopher Chulack, who brought him on to edit Southland. That opportunity opened the door to a rich television career with standout projects including Luke Cage, The Defenders, The Umbrella Academy, Outlander, For All Mankind, and Foundation, working with networks and platforms like FX, HBO, Marvel, Netflix, and Apple TV.

Miklos is a proud member of the IATSE Local 700 Editors Guild and American Cinema Editors. Through every twist in the industry and every shift in technology, he has stayed focused on what matters most: telling meaningful stories with care, craft, and a belief that great entertainment has the power to make a real impact.
