The media world is as fast as it ever has been. Keeping up with that pace has been Kim Wozniak, whose work always merits that Gold Medal. Kim always had a passion for film and television production and she followed her heart right from college. After being awarded her Bachelor's degree at Carthage College and pursuing graduate work in film/video at Columbia College Chicago, this passion led Kim to Hollywood. Almost immediately, she began her industry career joining Norman Lear's Act III Communications. This was followed by a move to the legendary Walt Disney Pictures where, as the Production Accountant, Kim was responsible for budgeting, estimating and daily reporting to the studio. More importantly, she was learning the smart and efficient way to make her mark in the world of film and TV.
Having her commitment and ambition recognized, Kim quickly defied the odds and became the department head. During her tenure at Disney, she worked on ten feature films including "Dead Poets Society", "Pretty Woman" and "Hocus Pocus." It was no surprise that she was sought after for freelance work by the likes of Paramount, Miramax and some other independent film companies. The word traveled fast. If you wanted to be smart about producing your movie or TV show, you needed to hire Kim Wozniak.
In 1995, Kim triumphed again in her position as Director of Motion Picture Production for the Showtime Networks. While there, she supervised thirty-one original films, mini-series and television series that ranged from $2M to $15M. Kim was making the big decisions as she was directly responsible for all areas of production, i.e. scheduling, budgeting, location scouting, staffing in such faraway locales as the Philippines and Australia. But it wasn't just the details that Kim could handle. She also was active in the creative process by working in conjunction with directors and producers in order to ensure the production stayed within budget while preserving the filmmaker's vision and creative integrity. Among these projects was "Passion of Ayn Rand" with Emmy and Oscar winner Helen Mirren and Anne Rice's "Feast of All Saints".
Kim never stops. Of late, she has worked on and completed two feature films, several pilots and a TV series at Warner Bros. Television. Kim is at this working with the producer and writers of two sitcoms at Azure Blues Productions.
Kim is an active member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, serving a number of years on the Executive Committee of her peer group and several years on various committees within the Academy including the Activities Committee. She produced numerous events including the "Lost" and "Ugly Betty" panels.
There is very little that Kim Wozniak hasn't done in the film and television industry. More importantly, there's virtually nothing that Kim hasn't done exceptionally well. Along with her film and television work, she also co-produced a stage play "Golden Watch Chain" for the Los Angeles based theater group Windy City Players. It was a world premiere for the work.
