Buckie's older sister was
Mary Lee, who was a child actress and acted and sang with
Gene Autry in an album titled "Gene Autry With His Little Darlin' Mary Lee". As a child Buckie would play and swim at
Gene Autry's house on the weekends. Buckie's older sister Vera was Mr. Autry's secretary.
