- Wrote a stage adaptation of Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey" for the Mercury Theatre in Colchester, which starred Melanie Ramsay and played between 7th - 30th March 1996 (and was the biggest moneymaker in that theatre's history.)
- Wood's adaptation was later staged at the Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch 25th April - 17th May, 1997. This production starred Finty Williams (Judi Dench's daughter), and co-starred the popular British TV comedienne Sarah Alexander.
