- Alfred Wolf was born on October 7, 1915 in Eberbach, Germany. He was a director, known for M'Al Hahuravot (1938). He was married to Miriam Office. He died on August 1, 2004 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

- Became a U.S. citizen in 1941. Five days before the United States declared war on Germany, he secured visas for his parents, grandmother and aunt, rescuing them from a Pyrenees internment camp where his grandfather died.
- Co-authored two books, "Our Jewish Heritage" in 1957 and "Journey of Discovery: A Resource Manual for Catholic-Jewish Dialogue" in 1989, and edited the 1991 "Teaching About World Religions."
- Met with Pope John Paul II during the pope's 1987 visit to Los Angeles, and in 1969 helped launch the Inter-Religious Council of Southern California, which organized inter-religious services for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
- Studied at Hebrew seminary in Berlin, and Hebrew Union College in Ohio.
- Was rabbi of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Los Angeles' oldest Jewish Reform synagogue. Opened a series of Jewish youth summer camps in Malibu.
