- Hermann Wlach was born on August 11, 1884 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. He was an actor and director, known for Aussage verweigert (1916), Sein schwierigster Fall (1915) and Der Perlenmacher von Madrid (1921). He died on January 28, 1962 in Zollikon, Switzerland.
- The actor Hermann Wlach learnt his acting abilities at the Viennese Konservatorium which he finished in 1904.
- Hermann Wlach was also active in the film business from 1916 and he took part in the productions "Die Sünde der Helga Arndt" (1916), "Aussage verweigert" (1916) and "Der weisse Tod" (1916).
- It lasted till 1957 before he made a brief comeback in front of the camera in his adopted home Switzerland. To his last movies belong "Der 10. Mai" (1957) directed by Franz Schnyder and the TV production "Fuhrmann Henschel" (1962).
- In 1925 he was nominated as theater director of the National Theatre in Mannheim where he remained active till 1933 when he went to Switzerland. There he continued his stage career at the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
- He gained a foothold on stage at the Schillertheater in Berlin and in the next years followed other theaters in Berlin and Hamburg where he became established as a stage actor.
