Ed Wittstein was born on 7 April 1929 in Mount Vernon, New York, USA. He was a production designer and art director, known for Play It Again, Sam (1972), Fame (1980) and Bananas (1971). He died on 28 July 2011 in New York City, New York, USA.

Was nominated for Broadway&#39;s 1974 Tony Award as Best Scenic Designer
for &quot;Ulysses in Nighttown.&quot;

He was interred at Westchester Hills in Westchester County, New York.

He is survived by his friend, Juan Alvarado; his longtime partner, Bob Miller; nephews Mark and Andrew Goldstein.
