Biography

Karen was born and raised in Long Beach, California, Karen Lorre has been acting since she was a teen. A pre-med student at UC Irvine with effortless girl next-door-appeal, Karen’s public debut arrived as a fitness model and beauty icon gracing the cover of numerous magazines, billboards and romance novels. Before long, Karen was featured in over 60 commercials including for Clairol and Lee Jeans. Karen launched her acting career by overcoming 3000 other auditioners for the coveted role of the bubbly and conniving Tina Lord Roberts, on ABC’s "One Life to Live." A sparkling hit her first season, Karen broke through as a Soap Opera Digest Award Nominee for Best Female Newcomer.

With eight feature films under her belt, Karen’s career in both dramatic and comedic acting spans roles on a vast array of A-list television programs, including her portrayal as the "X-Files" femme fatal school teacher, Sharon Kiveat and the Sheriff’s lascivious wife on "Malcolm in the Middle." On "NYPD Blue," Karen palpably brought a vintage store owner’s kind conscience to the surface in her role as Michelle Beacham, and Karen was delighted to step into the heels of a seemingly shallow yet cultured make up artist as Martin Tupper’s love interest on "Dream On."

A lifelong humanitarian and environmentalist, Karen helped build a school house in Jaramillo, Mexico, worked on a regenerative ranch in Montana and volunteers for a nonprofit restoring kelp along the California coast. She has recently worked as a policy and communications specialist on a presidential campaign and hosts "Stories We Love," a podcast featuring guests doing good in the world. Karen is a best selling author, endorsed by Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. Bruce Lipton. A life coach, Karen helps her clients release subconscious blocks so they can thrive in every area of their lives. She also teaches her clients how to achieve fitness, fulfilling relationships and youthful exuberance at any age. Karen’s coaching and workout videos have accumulated over two million views on YouTube.

A natural athlete, Karen trained the flying trapeze with Cirque du Soleil and has performed as an acrobat and trapeze artist. Karen Lorre was named Aphrodite in the Goddess photo and essay series by Lisa Levart, featured on Huffington Post and in Oracle cards.
