Biography

Thomas Wiseman was born on January 1, 1931 in Vienna, Austria. He was a writer, known for The Romantic Englishwoman (1975). He was married to Malou Pantera. He died on August 29, 2018 in Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes, France.

British film critic who reviewed films for the London "Sunday Express" newspaper for several years in the early 1960s and also wrote a noted film book called, simply, "Cinema". He left the paper to concentrate on a new career as a novelist, being replaced by Clive Hirschhorn.

He wrote the first draft screenplay for "The Romantic Englishwoman", based on his own novel, and was extremely annoyed when director Joseph Losey hired Tom Stoppard to rewrite it.
