Biography

Ralph Wingens was born on October 19, 1942 in Roermond, Limburg, Netherlands. He was an actor, known for Zwaarmoedige verhalen voor bij de centrale verwarming (1975), Russen (2000) and Plan Delta (1989). He died on September 4, 2014 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands.

Between 1984 and 1987 he performed various performances with percussionists Michael Baird and Broer van den Bogaart under the name Sharp Wood Productions, in venues including Het Apollohuis in Eindhoven, the Bimhuis in Amsterdam and Theater Kikker in Utrecht.

With the musical theater group Orkater he played in De Nietsfabriek (1997) by Judith Herzberg. On September 4, 2014, Vincent van Warmerdam announced via Twitter that Wingens had died, with the text "Without this absurdist, Orkater would have looked different.".

Ralph Wingens was a Dutch actor. He received his training at Studio Herman Teirlinck (Higher Institute for Dramatic Art) in Antwerp.

He founded his own theater group, "Dzjatsh". In that context he worked with Peer Mascini, with whom he would often work later.

From 1964 he played theater roles, the first years at the National Theater of Belgium.
