Tall, slim, silver-haired, distinguished-looking character actor who
made his screen debut at age 47 and appeared in almost 200 movies.
Wilton was perfectly cast as a butler, and he played this role more
than any other over the next 25 years and almost 200 movies. Usually
uncredited, he also was well cast as a court official, waiter, doctor,
or businessman. Wilton stayed active in his later years and was working
at the time of his death in 1957.
