- Calder Willingham was born on December 23, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He was a writer, known for The Graduate (1967), Paths of Glory (1957) and Little Big Man (1970). He died on February 21, 1995 in Laconia, New Hampshire, USA.
- After graduating from the University of Virginia, Willingham moved to New York City, where he became associated with such literary giants as Truman Capote, Norman Mailer, and Gore Vidal.
