Biography

Karen Williams is known for For Love of the Game (1999), Boomerang (1992) and Homicide: Life on the Street (1993).

Karen has worked tirelessly to promote high school graduation and educational success for young Black and Latino males. Her collaborations with leading non-profits have improved the lives of thousands of New York City youth. Karen's "SafeSpace" program, an improvisational workshop series that explores sensitive themes through drama and public speaking, has been administrated to professional and non-professional actors, writers, ex-inmates and at-risk youth in the U.S. and the Caribbean. A long time practitioner of yoga, meditation and advanced integrative wellness modalities, Karen promotes wellness and health for all communities. She holds a B.A. degree in International Relations from Brown University and a M.A. degree in African and Caribbean Area Studies from University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
