Biography

  • Junior Williams was born in The Bronx, New York City to his father Herman Reginald Williams Sr. a Realtor and his mother Consuelo Rossi a supply teacher. His father is of Jamaican/Jewish descent and his mother was of Dominican/French ancestry. Herman Reginald Williams Sr. is a descendant of William Alexander. William Alexander was his grandfather. A German Jew that migrated to St. Elizabeth, Jamaica after WW1. When Junior's parents divorced in 1970 his father moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada and got remarried to Leila Joan Williams his step-mother from Barbados. Junior's biological mother Consuelo Rossi died in 1974. Before her death she asked his father to come and bring Junior to Canada.

While attending his first year at York University in 1984 he met actor, Louis Ferreira, star of the most recent television series' Motive and Stargate SG1. This encounter gave Junior the acting bug. He finished his B.A. degree at York University majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Political Science in 1988. At the same time he was simultaneously attending The Margo Lane School of Film and Television in Toronto. Shortly thereafter graduating from both he began studying with the late great Broadway actress/acting teacher Uta Hagen. Although she was based in New York City, Hagen made trips to Toronto and ran workshops for several years there from the late 80's to the mid 90's.

His first audition was in 1989 for the first Lotto 649 commercial in Canada. He was cast and since that day has gone on to act in over 100 commercials including lending his voice to numerous voice-overs. His break out role in film came in 1995 when he was cast as the gay boxer Curtis in the acclaimed and award winning film Rude. Since then Junior has gone on to work in several films and television episodes along side the likes of Ed Harris, Diane Lane, actor/director Rob Morrow, Wesley Snipes, Dash Mihok, Anne Heche, Rob Estes and Josie Bissette of Melrose Place fame. He had the pleasure of working with good friend/actor Donal Logue in the 1997 film Men with Guns starring Paul Sorvino. Williams has also had the pleasure to work with coming up acting buddy J.H. Wyman in the 1996 film Listen. J.H. Wyman then cast his long time friend in a cameo in his first feature that he wrote and directed in 1997 Pale Saints starring Sean Patrick Flannery. Williams started writing himself in 2005 and continues to pitch his projects around Hollywood.
