Joe 'Jody' Williams

Jody is a Cinematographer that hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He acquired his BSC and MFA degrees at Ohio University in Film. His experience spans from being a camera assistant to camera operating for 15 years before becoming a full time DP. His filmography spans a variety of genres, including epic period dramas, shorts, commercials, music videos, horror, documentary and rom-coms. He has collaborated with trailblazing directors including, Robert Townsend, Mario Van Peebles, Spike Lee, Bill Duke, John Singleton and Tyler Perry. Jody has also been nominated twice for Emmy Awards. For his work on the documentaries Paper Trails; 100 Years of the Chicago Defender (2005) and House Music- A Cultural Revolution (2025)
