Edson Williams

Edson Williams grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he was enrolled in the mechanical engineering program. Williams later received a Bachelor of Arts degree in cinematography from Brooks Institute of Photography. He became an adjunct professor at two colleges, teaching Matte painting, Computer Animation, and Composting curriculum using industry-standard software packages. At Brooks Institute of Photography, Williams developed the digital imaging program and was the lead visual effects instructor.

In 1994, Williams founded the visual effects company Virtual Dynamics. Virtual Dynamic's credit list included films True Lies (1994), Strange Days (1995), Nick of Time (1995), and Broken Arrow (1996). In 1998, Williams consolidated his employees into the visual effects company, Pixel-Envy partnering with Greg Strause and Colin Strause. At Pixel-Envy, Edson was the lead compositor and responsible for digital effects supervision and on-set support. He has produced visual effects for over 30 feature films including The Nutty Professor (1996), Titanic (1997), The X Files (1998), and Volcano (1997).

In 2003, Greg Strause and Colin Strause along with Thomas Nittmann and Edson Williams created Lola visual effects, a sister company to Hydraulx, which focuses primarily on digital cosmetic enhancements. Edson serves as the lead VFX supervisor.

Lola has gained a reputation for superior results and confidentiality in the film and television industry. There is no longer any need to compromise between appearance and performance. Lola is the next step in visual effects technology, a midpoint between digital actors and make-up effects that makes actors younger, thinner, more muscular, and fitter.
