- Alex Wilequet was born on April 18, 1928 in Antwerpen, Flanders, Belgium. He was an actor and director, known for De bossen van Vlaanderen (1991), Slisse & Cesar (1977) and De paradijsvogels (1979). He died on March 5, 2025 in Kalmthout, Heide, Flanders, Belgium.

- He was married to the daughter of the Suske en Wiske (United States: Willy & Wanda) cartoonist Willy Vandersteen from 1958 until her death in 2025. Wilequet died only 11 days after the death of his wife.
- According to himself, the most important role of his career was the play about Father Damien (Dutch-language adaptation of the play Damien by Aldyth Morris). For this he received the Kareltje prize in 1987, awarded by the then Minister of Culture Karel Poma. Between 1984 and 1990 he played the play more than 300 times for at least 100,000 spectators.
