    German supporting actor, on stage from 1927. Invariably cast as army or navy officers at the start of his film career in the early 40's . After World War II, he appeared in East German Defa films and later on television, often playing doctors, lawyers or priests. He was a German dubbing voice for Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn and a voice actor for Berlin radio station RIAS. In the 60's and 70's, he also recorded Karl May radio plays for record and cassette.
