- Morning disc jockey on Los Angeles, California radio station KMPC (1950-1979).
- Attended the University of Montana. Moved to Los Angeles and formed a singing quartet, 'The 4 Esquires'. Subsequently became one of the original Pied Pipers, a vocal group, often accompanying Jo Stafford and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
- He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Radio at 6384 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on December 13, 1978.
- Posthumously inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame on November 8, 2008.
