- Willard White was born on October 10, 1946 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He is an actor and editor, known for Terry Gilliam's Benvenuto Cellini - English National Opera (2014), Amahl and the Night Visitors (1978) and Breakfast with the Arts (1991).

- He is one of only two classical singers (the other was Paul Robeson, also a bass singer) to have played Othello in Shakespeare's play.
- He was awarded a Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2004 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to Music.
