Born in Padua in 1953, he studied architecture, photography and acting
in Rome. In 70's he was the curator of several Roman film club of the
programmes. He also made two films in super8. He then went on to
organize the roadshow exhibitions Filmopera, on cinema based on famous
operas and Shakescreen, on films made either about Shakespeare or his
works. In 1980 he wrote a screenplay for RAI, ALL'OMBRA DEI SAVOIA, and
over the next five years he made documentaries about archeology for RAI
and for Istituto Luce. In 1985 he founded the Nuova Dimensione, with
which he produced his first feature film, RORRET, followed in 1992 by
his second film, QUATTRO FIGLI UNICI. In 1999 his film PRIMA LA MUSICA,
POI LE PAROLE was presented at the Giffoni Film Festival. From 2003 to
2006 he directed the TV serial UN POSTO AL SOLE and from 2000 to 2005
taught directing at the Film School "Anna Magnani" in Prato. NON
VOLTARMI LE SPALLE (2006) and MINEURS (2007) are his latest
films.
