Biography

Gisela Werbisek was born on April 8, 1875 in Preßburg, Austria-Hungary [now Bratislava, Slovakia]. She was an actress, known for Das Kabinett des Dr. Larifari (1930), Girls Under 21 (1940) and Frau Braier aus Gaya (1926). She was married to John Piffle. She died on April 10, 1956 in Hollywood, California, USA.

With the Nazis coming into power in Germany, she emigrated to the US, where she began getting small roles in stage productions. She later obtained film work, but mainly in small roles.

Her last German film productions came at the beginning of the '30s, although she continued to appear on the stage.

She also used the name Gisela Werbisek making her stage debut in Pressburg.

Entered the film business in 1912.
