Biography

Antje Weisgerber was born on May 17, 1922 in Königsberg, East Prussia, Germany [now Kaliningrad, Russia]. She was an actress, known for The Country Doctor (1987), Die Nibelungen (1967) and Ein Schloß in Schweden (1967). She was married to Reinhard Schilling and Horst Caspar. She died on September 29, 2004 in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Best known to a bigger audience as "Olga" on The Country Doctor (1987).

Became a respected actress in the 1950s, especially due to her performance as "Gretchen" in "Faust", directed by Gustaf Gründgens.

Brunette leading actress of 1950's and 60's German film, trained at the theatre school of the Preußische Staatstheater in Berlin. A prolific stage actress with residencies at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, and, latterly the Staatlichen Schauspielbühnen Berlin and the Schillertheater. On screen, mostly in TV roles from 1965. Specialised in playing resolute, emancipated women of middle-class background.

Son Frank Caspar died January 3rd, 1953.
