She died on September 29, 2004 in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

  • Became a respected actress in the 1950s, especially due to her performance as "Gretchen" in "Faust", directed by Gustaf Gründgens.

A prolific stage actress with residencies at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, and, latterly the Staatlichen Schauspielbühnen Berlin and the Schillertheater. On screen, mostly in TV roles from 1965. Specialised in playing resolute, emancipated women of middle-class background.
