Biography

Wendy, a native of California, grew up in a family with a long history in show business. Her grandmother was a Ziegfeld Girl, her mother an actress and singer, and her father a technical director and director. Wendy literally grew up as a "TV brat" in the halls of NBC Studios, and this exposure to the world of theater, television, and movies instilled in her a passion for all three. Her love of makeup began in school doing theatrical productions and she went on to a full career in television and film, becoming a top makeup artist and Makeup Department Head.

Wendy's credentials include being a Makeup Artist for over 30 years; Trained by Harry Blake and mentored by Tommy Cole and Maurice Stein. She has Journeyman and Gold Card status with I.A.T.S.E. Local 706 and is a member of A.T.A.S. Wendy is an Emmy Award nominee and honoree. Her background consists of all genres of film and television, multi & single camera, including live production, comedy, drama, variety and commercial, as well as magazines and publications. She is a professional in beauty corrective makeup for all ethnicities, period and era work, prosthetic concepts, tattoo application & cover up, body, fantasy and face painting.

As a Makeup Department Head, Wendy is proficient in staffing and overseeing her department, doing script breakdown, forecasting budgets for labor and materials, establishing makeup design, research and prep work, care for actor skin issues, coordinating daily flow and schedule with ADs, tracking character continuity, keeping book for production reports, and coordinating makeup issues with production, hair, costumes, props, lighting, special effects and other departments. Her body of work includes positions in print, video and film mediums.

Wendy's work has graced the faces of some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and her creativity and talent have helped to bring many memorable characters to life. Wendy's passion for her work and her dedication to her craft are evident in everything she does. She is a talented artist and a devoted advocate for her profession. She is also an enthusiastic teacher and has taught makeup artistry in her personally designed course, The Makeup Basix Seminar. She is a mentor to young makeup artists and is committed to helping others to pursue their dreams.
