Biography

Eric Weissberg was born on August 16, 1939 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for Deliverance (1972), The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) and Hors-la-loi (1985). He was married to Juliet Savage. He died on March 22, 2020 in New York, New York, USA.

One of his hobbies was collecting historic cars and motorcycles.

He attended the Juilliard School of Music, and began playing with folk groups the Greenbriar Boys and the Tarriers. With the Tarriers, he backed Judy Collins on a European tour and performed on her 1965 LP, Fifth Album.

He took up the banjo in childhood after Pete Seeger gave a concert at his school.
