I worked for BBC Film from 1964 to 1997 on a wide variety of productions. Early in my career as a Sound Recordist on major Documentary Series such as Civilisation with Kenneth Clark, Alistair Cooke's America and Royal Heritage. Later I moved into Drama on such things as Bergerac and Target. My break into premium Drama was on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy followed by Smileys People and Perfect Spy all receiving BAFTA nominations. I eventually received a BAFTA for Oranges are not the Only Fruit in 1989. Later I moved back into Documentaries with a lot of travel, including war zones, on Panorama. I left the BBC in 1997 and freelanced until retirement.
