- Douglas Webb was awarded the the Distinguished Flying Medal for his part in the legendary Dam Buster's raid in the Second World War. After the war he opened his own photography studio in London's Soho, where he specialized in pin-ups, theatrical and film portraits. In 1948 he first met his future common-law wife, Pamela Green a notorious nude model and minor actress.
