Biography

Rose Weaver is an American actress, singer and playwright. The oldest of six children born to a sharecropping family in Georgia, Rose began her acting career at the Tony award-winning Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island where she has performed for over 50 years.

Recent film & TV work include roles in the films About Fate (2022) opposite Emma Roberts, A Snow White Christmas (2018), The Last Black Dinosaur (2023), Tina and The 6th Amendment (2017) as well as the NBC pilot Suspicion (2018). NBC submitted her for Emmy consideration for her Guest Star role on In the Heat of the Night (1988) opposite the late Carroll O'Connor. Other past work includes The Accused (1988), opposite Jodie Foster, Poetic Justice (1993) opposite the late Tupac Shakur, Detroit (2017) opposite John Boyega, as Judge Kersey in L.A. Law (1986), Tales from the Crypt (1989), Not in My Family (1993), Lady in White (1988) and Mother Washington in Go Tell It on the Mountain (1985).

Rose Weaver's body of work has earned her numerous awards, including three Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degrees, a Lucille Lortel Playwriting Award, a Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts, RI International Film Festival Producer's Circle Award, RI Woman of the Year, RI Foundation Fellowships & New Works Awards, RI Achievement in the Arts, YWCA Woman of the Year Awards in Arts, and The RI Historical Society History Maker Award. induction into the RI Heritage Harbor Hall Of Fame.

Rose is managed by Powerline Entertainment, CA and is represented by J Pervis Talent Agency, GA. She makes her home in Atlanta, GA.
