They have three children. He was previously married to Caroline Harding.

- He can walk on his hands, and does so every week since a young man. At his wedding, during the reception he walked to his new wife on his hands with a rose between his toes that his son put there.
- Has acted in both the Doctor Who franchise and Eon James Bond franchise.
- He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award (2000 season) for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "A Servant for Two Masters" at the Young Vic and New Ambassadors Theatres.
