Biography

Warner is an award-winning film and theatre director whose spans film, theatre, and opera. He most recently directed the feature film, Hamlet/Horatio. Past work includes: Kaya: Taste of Paradise an original movie musical, l Fall Time-starring Mickey Rourke which premiered in competition at Sundance, In The Name of The Father-also a Sundance premiere, Executive Creative Consultant and Director of Actors for David Michalek's Portraits in Dramatic Time with Alan Rickman, William H. Macy, and Holly Hunter--Lincoln Center Festival, River of Stone, a new musical which premiered in the Jaffa Festival, and Women: The War within a new dance opera by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Du Yun and Obie-winning writer, Matthew Maguire, about Hillary Clinton, Aung San Suu Kyi , Wu Zeitian, and Cleopatra featuring Wendy Whelan of The New York City Ballet at The Baryshnikov Arts Center. Warner is a graduate of Harvard and The American Film Institute. He is an alum of The Drama League's Director's Project, Director's Lab West, and the winner of a Statue Award from the Princess Grace Foundation.

Past film directing includes: Fall Time--starring Mickey Rourke, David Arquette, Stephen Baldwin, and Sheryl Lee, which premiered in competition at Sundance, In The Name of The Father--also a Sundance premiere. Warner was the Executive Creative Consultant and Director of Actors for David Michalek's Portraits in Dramatic Time, a series of shorts featuring Alan Rickman, William H. Macy, Holly Hunter, in addition to over forty performers from around the world. Portraits premiered at The Lincoln Center Festival. Recent theatre includes Women: The War Within, by Pulitizer-Prize Winning composer Du Yun and Obie-winning writer Matthew Maguire--a new dance opera about Hillary Clinton, Aung San Suu Kyi, Cleopatra, and Wu Zetian featuring Wendy Whelan of The New York City Ballet. Women premiered at The Baryshnikov Arts Center. Warner is an alumnus of The Drama League of New York's Director's Project, The Director's Lab West, and a recipient of both a fellowship and The Statue Award from the Princess Grace Foundation. His film and theatre productions have been honored with numerous accolades internationally. His new feature film, Hamlet/Horatio 2.0 begins production in 2019. Warner is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A.) and The American Film Institute (M.F.A. in Directing).
