Biography

Marina Warner was born on November 9, 1946 in London, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Female Human Animal (2018), Reader, I Married Him (2006) and Thinking Aloud (1984).

Cultural historian, critic and novelist.

Professor Warner F.B.A. was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honors List for her services to Literature.

She was awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2015 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to Higher Education and Literary Scholarship. She is the Professor for the School of the Arts and Humanities at the University of London and a Fellow at All Souls College at Oxford University in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. She lives in London NW5, England.

She was awarded the Member of the Companion of Honour in the 2022 Queen's Birthday Platinum Honours List for her services to Humanities. She is a Professor of English and Creative Writing, Birkbeck College, University of London and Distinguished Fellow, All Souls College, University of Oxford.
