Co-founder of Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc., along with brothers Sam Warner (the company's CEO), Albert Warner (the treasurer) and Jack L. Warner (executive in charge of production).

Uncle of Jack Warner Jr., and great-grandfather of actor Cole Hauser. Cole's maternal grandmother, Betty Warner, was Harry's daughter, with his wife, Rea Levinson. Harry's son-in-law, and Cole's maternal grandfather, was producer Milton Sperling.

He also had a son called Lewis J. Warner, who died in 1931, he was only 22.

Co-founded (with brother Sam Warner) distribution company Warners Features Inc. in 1910, which was reorganized as United Film Service in 1915.

As an example of what little regard Warner Bros. management had for its cartoon division, Chuck Jones recalled a meeting he had with the three Warner brothers about the division. One of them said, "I don't even know where our [cartoon] studio is." Harry replied, "All I know about it is that we make Mickey Mouse". Mickey Mouse was actually made by Walt Disney.
