She was the lone female singing voice on The Partridge Family (1970) studio recordings of the '70s.

She was one of the busiest and most prolific studio singers of the '60s and '70s, working with the likes of Nat 'King' Cole, Nancy Wilson, Anita Kerr and Barbra Streisand.

Using the pseudonym "Robin Ward"--Robin was her sister's first name--she had a pop music hit with the song "Wonderful Summer", which reached the top 20 on the Billboard charts and has become an oldies classic.

She with Ron Hicklin, John Bahler, and Tom Bähler performed the vocals for The Partridge Family (1970), The Brady Bunch (1969), and other singing TV stars in the 1960s and 1970s.

She was Janet Leigh's singing double in the film, An American Dream (1966). It was Ward introducing Johnny Mandel's melancholy song, "A Time for Love".

She did many of the popular TV theme songs from the 1960's and 70's. Including Flipper, Batman, Love American Style, and Maude.

Was the voice of Speedy Gonzales on Pat Boone's hit record "Speedy Gonzales".

Did the songs in Inside Daisy Clover (1965). Natalie Wood had wanted to do the singing and was not happy about Jackie doing the songs. So much so, that she refused to meet her during the production of the film. She again sang for Natalie in the film The Great Race (1965) that same year.

Sang on several number one hit singles. And received no royalties. That was the practice back then. Backup singers only received the per day fee.

Had a hit single that reached number 8 on the charts as Robin Ward. The song was "Wonderful Summer". It was released as a single on Dot records.

She also did the singing for Janet Leigh in the film An American Dream (1966), later known as "See You In Hell, Darling".

She had two sisters and they sang together as The McDonnell Sisters.

Assembled groups of singers for composers that needed groups of singers to work for them.

After winning a talent contest in Yankton, South Dakota. Her parents moved the family to Los Angeles to give the girls a chance to follow their dream.

Sang with Frank Sinatra, Nat 'King' Cole, Pat Boone, Jimmie Rodgers and more. And she sang on one of the last recordings that Bing Crosby did.

She chose to use her daughters first name for her single because it sounded younger. And the song was geared towards teenagers. They didn't use her picture at the time of the release.

Was a singer on The Red Skelton Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and the Danny Kaye Show.

Didn't know how to read sheet music when she started working in Hollywood. Went to City College to learn music.

Says she shifted from doing vocals for TV shows because she got paid a small amount of money for the whole day. Whereas, if she sang backup vocals for records she was paid better for less time.

The McDonnell Sisters did a local show on KTLA for four years in the middle 1950's. It was called Bandstand Revue.
