Katie's mother passed away from pancreatic cancer in October 2014.

Got engaged to her boyfriend Jonathan in February 2018. They have a daughter together, Madeline Jean (b. July 18, 2018).

All My Children (1970) was her first professional audition in New York City, and she was originally up for the part of "Laura Kirk English", but landed the part of "Shannon", instead.
