  • Thomas Wagner won a primetime Emmy for producing and writing, "Finding Lucy", a film biography about the television comedienne, Lucille Ball for the PBS series, American Masters. His script for that film was nominated as Best Documentary Script, 2001 by the Writers Guild of America. He co-produced and co-wrote the American Masters production of "Rod Serling: Submitted for Your Approval", which won a Bronze plaque at the Columbus Film Festival along with a Cine Gold Eagle. That script was also nominated for a Writer's Guild of America award for Best Documentary Script, 1995.

    Mr. Wagner recently received another Emmy nomination for the score he composed for Patrick. Patrick was the second film in a trilogy that also included his scores for Reluctant Saint: Francis of Assisi and the recently aired Joan of Arc: Child of War, Soldier of God. The music for all three films was performed by Hesperus, the celebrated early music trio. The trilogy was produced for the Hallmark Channel.

    For the past twenty-five years, Mr. Wagner has composed, arranged and produced scores for numerous films which have aired on public and commercial television. He scored the Emmy winning American Masters film biography of Lucille Ball. He also composed the score for "Daughter of the Bride" which aired on HBO and which garnered an Academy Award nomination. Other credits include: "Moyers on Addiction; Close to Home", PBS; "The History of American Cinema", a landmark ten-part PBS series; American Masters, for which he composed the series theme music; "The Wisdom of Faith with Huston Smith", a five part PBS series; "Hasten Slowly", a film portrait of Sir Laurens Van Der Post; numerous National Geographic Explorer specials; P.O.V.'s Emmy award winning film "Honorable Nations"; "USSART", which premiered at the Hirschorn Museum in Washington, D.C.; and "To Know Where They Are", which premiered at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and which won the Best of Festival prize at the International Film and Video Festival. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mr. Wagner is a member of the Writers Guild of America East and the American Federation of Musicians.
