Anwar Wagdi was born on 11 October 1904 in Cairo, Egypt. He was an actor and director, known for Bint el akaber (1953), The Flirtation of Girls (1949) and Yasmin (1950). He was married to Layla Fawzi, Laila Mourad and Elham Hussein. He died on 14 May 1955 in Stockholm, Sweden.

His family was from Syrian origins from Aleppo.

His marriage to <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0269531/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Layla Fawzi</a> lasted four months.

Lived in poverty and was homeless after his father kicked him out of the house because he didn&#39;t want him to be an actor.
