- P.W. Wade was a classically trained concert violinist who only began lessons at the age of 15, serving as co-concertmaster of the University of Tennessee orchestra where he was trained by Russian violinist Mark Zelmanovich.
- Interestingly, Wade has an Edrös-Bacon number of 7, and an Edrös-Bacon-Sabbath number of 10, a very rare occurrence in the combined fields of academia, film and music.
- Dr. William R. Wade, father of P.W., was one of the more prolific mathematicians of the latter 20th century.
