P.W. Wade made his debut in the world of entertainment in 1988 after founding the hip hop group Pete's Posse with Disney Television executive producer Joel Trussell. As one of the first rap groups to feature a Caucasian emcee, they broke a multitude of barriers in the late '80s and early '90s, recording and touring in the Southeastern United States until their separation in 1994. As a self-taught filmmaker who started organizing feature-length home video productions as early as 1989, his official directorial debut finally took place with the Nashville release of Takin' It BACK to the Streets in 1998.
Throughout the 2000s, Wade made a name for himself in numerous film competitions as an award-winning director, writer and editor with such independent releases as Oneonta Road (2004) and Abandon (2007). As the President and CEO of OFF Productions, Wade created the television show Spin Off with cinematographer Jack Hooper that skyrocketed to fame on local stations across America. During its 10-year run, the series garnered a significant number of awards as the best local show in several markets. His most notable film was the 2-hour feature action film Pro$ & Con$ (2001), a ground-breaking endeavor in low-budget filmmaking that included one of the last video recordings of the World Trade Center in New York (filmed in early September of 2001). His comedy feature Scrutiny (2005) gained tremendous attention and featured Wade opposite leading-lady Cayman Grant, an actress and writer known for her work with The Social Network. The company was finally dissolved in 2009 as Wade decided to pursue other endeavors.
Wade enjoyed a fascination for mathematics as early as elementary school, cultivated by his father William R. Wade, a well-known professor of mathematics. In 2000, Wade published an innovative paper with his father after developing the first formula that produced all possible Pythagorean triples occurring in right triangles, a problem that had been analyzed by scholars for thousands of years. Wade also conquered incredibly challenging goals of domestic and international travel, becoming one of the most traveled human beings in the history of the contiguous United States. He has nearly completed 97 lists of systematic American travel co-developed with esteemed professor of travel and tourism Dr. Alan Hogenauer.
