Biography

Olivera Katarina was born on March 5, 1940 in Belgrade, Serbia, Yugoslavia. She was an actress, known for The Last Guerrilla (1974), Ein großer graublauer Vogel (1970) and Planinata na gnevot (1968). She was married to Vuk Vuco and Miladin Sakic. She died on July 21, 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia.

As of October 2012, she was living in Belgrade, Serbia.

Serbian actress and singer, also credited as Olivia Vuco. She was the daughter of Budimir Petrovic, a naval captain, and mother Katarina (née Jovancic.

After attending piano and ballet lessons, she went to Paris in 1959 and enrolled at the Alliance Française school in order to improve her French language skills. She initially enrolled at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law before switching to the Faculty of Dramatic Arts.

Best known for her performance in Aleksandar Petrovic's film I Even Met Happy Gypsies (1967), which won the Grand Prix at the 1967 Cannes Film Festival.

Katarina is also known as "the only woman Salvador Dalí knelt in front of", being amazed by her beauty and voice, after her concert in Paris.
