She died on April 7, 1986 in Riehen, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland.

She was chiefly notable for partnering her husband Curt Goetz on stage, as well as in a few highly entertaining films, including Napoleon ist an allem schuld (1938), Das Haus in Montevideo (1951) and Hocuspocus (1953).
