Biography

Monika grew up in Munich, Germany, where being a child actor caused her to fall in love with filmmaking at an early age. She moved to the United States and established herself as a script supervisor, working alongside directors like Robert Rodriguez, Richard Linklater and Mike Judge for many years. Her directorial debut, the documentary film Flyabout (2006) premiered at SXSW, was picked up by Halogen TV and went on to inspire people at venues worldwide. Her short film Wink (2017) premiered at Dances With Films and went on to win several awards during its festival run. Monika is a private pilot and mother of two fledgling teenagers. But no pets. Not even a goldfish.
